Super Peter Principle
The Peter principle states that in organizations people rise to their level of incompetence – in super Peter principle you cut the middle man and go way above your level of incompetence straight away.
Thus we have total failures like Sarah Palin, her daughter who can’t dance and that failed businessman Donald Trump claiming success and Sarah and Donald talk about potential presidential bids in 2012.
Let’s examine the reality of these people:
- Donald Trump has lost billions of dollars for his share holders while profiting from his celebrity status. Objectively, he has been an abject failure as a business leader. He makes most of his money from “The Apprentice,” and licensing his name to real estate projects. So in effect many buildings which have his name on them do not belong to and have never belonged to Trump.
- Sarah Palin contributed to the loss of elections by ex-maverick (I cannot even remember his name). She quitted from her governorship of Alaska, a state with fewer people than San Bernadino county (a minor county in California). She is the reason that the Democrats still hold the Senate. In the meanwhile she makes millions from her celebrity.
- As for Bristol Palin who is the poster child of why lack of sex education is dangerous. Now apparently she is atrocious in “Dancing with the Stars” (I don’t watch) but thanks to her mother’s fans she is in the finals. Fair enough. People like her mom and it is a popularity contest. What I’m writing about is her hubris in not acknowledging that she owes her popularity to her mother.
There’s lots of nonsense written about elites. Elites are the cream of the crop. The best. My question is would you send a person with a broken leg to the Olympics? Or would you send your best athlete? Think about that next time you vote.
