Non-conspicuous spending
True story:
A financial company which has been involved in the debacatastrophiasco (debacle-catasrophe-fiasco) which is the state of the US and world economy had a thank you junket to Palms spring. They were supposed to have an expensive black tie dinner. The top management said this would not “look good” in the public and the media may hear of it. So they told the employees to go in onesies and twosies (with their significant others) to any dinner they wanted to and put it on their expense account.
In fact this ended up costing much more than the formal dinner but they didn’t give a hoot as it looked good. No one was aware.
Wake up people. If we do not do anything about “them,” if we continue to use the twin opiate of the masses (formal religion and TV) we deserve all that we are getting. One of the greatest of our founding fathers< Thomas Jefferson, said, “We need to have a revolotion every twenty years.”
Maybe not a revolotion but we need to take back our country from the fat cat financial institutions and have a government of the people, by the people, for the people – rather than a government of the rich, for the super, super rich, by the rich.
Lets have a rule that all Senators, Congress persons, Presidents, CEOs and anyone else can never ever be worth more than a thousand times the average worth of the country. You would see the average standard of living of the country shoot up….
